Public Health Engineering Department is an important organization under Local Government Division. The Department of Public Health Engineering provides services to the people of Bangladesh as a government-appointed organization for expansion and development of safe water supply and sanitation system in rural and urban areas, without the area under WASA. Rapid urbanization has increased the demand for water supply and sanitation. To meet this demand, assistance is provided for planning and institutional development under technical support in the municipal area. With the help of the Bangladesh government's own funding and development partner organization, the Department of Public Health Engineering has implemented various projects and programs to provide the scheduled services. Apart from this, due to flood, cyclone, pestilence etc., due to the emergence of safe drinking water and sanitation system, necessary activities and implementation have been implemented.
